primo romanzo poliziesco della serie di pepe carvalho che va considerato una specie di presentazione del curioso detective galiziano. pepe viene ingaggiato dal signor ramon per scoprire l'identità di un cadavere (l'uomo alto e biondo come la birra) senza volto ripescato in mare a pochi chilometri da barcellona. unico indizio: un inquietante tatuaggio..."sono nato per rivoluzionare l'inferno".

era hermoso y rubio como la cerveza;
